The sautoir consists of faceted round black jades, gold spheres worked in filigree, a very ancient technique still practiced today in Liguria, and a rosette motif shaped in the round and embellished with black sapphires. The chromatic contrast between the yellow of the metal and the black of the gems highlights both the refined elegance of the goldsmithing and the preciousness of the materials.
