The quest for perfection and sheer beauty is at the core of the work of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, who personally selected the clothes and accessories featured in this book — all adorned with gems, multicoloured stones, macro- and micro-sequins, pearls of various sizes, gold leaf, and crystals. This appliqué leitmotif first appeared in the fashion shows of the 1980s and 1990s, and it continues to resurface periodically in the women’s collections.
