The images in this book, published by Rizzoli, are inspired by the masculine archetypes of the heroes and the athletes, whose beauty, according to Greco-Roman tradition, transcends time, trends and culture.

Looking at the images shot by Mariano Vivanco, both in black and white and colour, what is noticeable is not just an array of well-known faces from all international catwalks, but a snapshot of mankind. Their perfect bodies and their tense muscles, sculpted by training and discipline, are almost reminiscent of an anatomy manual, and yet they do not lose none of their sensuality and grace.

The last section of the book is dedicated to Tony Ward.
An icon of the ’80s and ’90s, Tony’s charm is almost primitive. He reveals himself and plays with the camera without filters. The result is a series of images drenched in virility and eroticism, thanks to the eloquence of a face and body whose charm has withstood the test of time, unadulterated.
