In the campaign that launches the Dolce&Gabbana classic perfumes, Mario Testino sets a scene of fairytale romance in the Italian tradition, as the backdrop for a tale of love and transgression, like a gem of ancient storytelling. We find ourselves in a village square in southern Italy. During a joyful wedding party, a girl, played by Laetitia Casta, lets her mind wander to sensuous fantasies, intertwining them with memories and desires for her beloved, played by Noah Mills. A blend of sensuality and love, eros and the sacred, scandal and desire follows in the parallel scenes, in which the excitement of the wedding party becomes the setting for a real life elopement: through the narrow Italian lanes of magnificent baroque architecture; along the breathtaking Mediterranean coastline in a 1950s sports car; on a beach, making love to the strains of “Città Vuota” by Mina, the greatest and most loved voice in the history of Italian music.
