Inspiration
The starting point of the Dolce&Gabbana Fall Winter 2013 women’s collection
is the tradition of Sicilian Baroque, which has evolved in volumes and processes,
experimenting in new cuts and decorations: golden embroideries that recall Baroque

tapestries; prints of cherubs and angels that appear to have come out of a painting.

BAROQUE TAILORING
INSPIRATION
The starting point of the Dolce&Gabbana Winter 2013 men’s collection is the

and processes, experimenting in new cuts and embroidery until they take on a life
of their own. A history that from its own past finds the impulse to always look for
something NEW.

The coat is the protagonist of the collection. Made in different shapes and in various
proportions, from daily items to eveningwear, becoming sometimes a cape, called
Tistera, typical in Sicilian countryside.

(boiled, painted, aged) such as pinstripe, herringbone, velvet and Prince of Wales,
with which coats, jackets and pants are made.
Precious, Baroque-inspired embroideries are all made of gold filigree threads and recall
the spirals one can find in churches.
SHAPES
Shapes are the natural evolution of the Italian tailoring tradition

characterised by gaiters worn over pointed and rounded-toe shoes.
Always present are the iconic Sicilian caps and romantic ribbon bow-ties.

DOLCE&GABBANA Woman Summer 2012
BREAD, LOVE AND…
“Italian Beauty”
The imaginary movie created to describe the Dolce&Gabbana Spring Summer 2012 collection
is set up in a small town in the South of Italy, decorated for festivities.
Everything recalls the typically Italian joyful spirit: from the distinctive illuminations that adorn
every street and the fragrances and tastes of Mediterranean food, down to the crochet that
embellishes tablecloths.
Tomatoes, aubergine, courgette, onions and hot pepper prints brighten up the classic sheath
dresses or dresses cut at the waist and ruched, tops, shorts and deconstructed jackets. All clothes
are made in organza or cotton, mixed with crochet in pastel colours such as light blue, peach,
beige and nude.
The exuberant sensuality of the Italian culinary culture and of the traditions are also expressed
in the accessories made of pasta and little tomatoes, onions and small Madonnas that decorate
shoulder bags, earrings, necklaces and bracelets.
On the other hand, bags and shoes are made of that typical intertwined plastic that recalls the
chairs one can find at the bars in all the small towns in the South of Italy, where friends gather.
Come the night, the black brocade dresses and jackets are covered with shiny stones of the same
colour, while the sparkling geometries of the illuminations that decorate the streets are recreated
through embroideries made of multi-coloured crystals on lace dresses.
For the finale, bodysuits embroidered with glittering multi-coloured stones that shine like
fireworks.
Music: “Mambo Italiano” sung by Sofia Loren.
“For us, this is the essence of the italian beauty.”
DOLCE&GABBANA MEN SUMMER 2012

In addition to the “NET,” the presence of silk/wool mohair tailored suits is still strong and
characterised by new proportions for the lapels, the length and the construction.
Shirts are rigorously white.
The colours used are: greys, burgundy, bottle green, coffee brown, white and black.
Shoes and bags in leather “NET.”

Animalier
Dolce & Gabbana presents Animalier. This new line of accessories features the characteristic leopard print, which has been such a constant in the history of the brand, that it has become its true signature. In this accessories collection, the protagonist is the leopard that, with its savage sensuality evokes the warm allure of Africa and the atmosphere that also bewitched Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, who feel that animal prints are essential for the existence of divas and divine women.
Dolce & Gabbana revisits and revamps this great classic, developing its own exclusive fabric silk-screened in four colours, and that thanks to a special technique creates an illusion of real leopard skin with irregular spots. This special animal print is further enhanced by a discreet lettering of Dolce&Gabbana, and the leather goods all have a stirrup, which is another recurrent symbol in the accessories’ history of the brand.

Men’s Fall/Winter 2006/2007
The new power of the Dolce & Gabbana man: himself.
A crown: an unmistakeable symbol of strength and independence, that celebrates a man who is able to reign with his own will.
The suit was the way in which man boasted his own self-assurance and his own power, today he no longer has that necessity.
A new man is born: not the daring man of the 80s, not the introspective one of the 90s, today a man is aware, independent and has conquered a perfect equilibrium between body and mind.
This new man discovers self-esteem and the satisfaction of looking after his own body.
1. Interior serenity: no to exercising power through the suit... the deconstructed suit.
2. Confidence: no ostentation... T-shirt seraph.
3. New self-awareness... brocaded velvets.
4. Self-esteem: satisfaction in communicating sensuality... sweaters, velvet scarves.
5. Care for oneself and one’s own body... tight-fitting shirts.
6. Masculine aggregation: free time, gym and shopping with friends... emperor/military.
The Dolce & Gabbana man has always understood the importance of one’s own personality and has never kept secret his desire for sensuality, although this could undermine the rules of etiquette.
It is evident how the Dolce & Gabbana style has influenced, on a global level, men’s clothing by imposing itself as the predominant aesthetic taste, also for those that Dolce & Gabbana does not dress: jacket, shirt and ripped jeans.
Women’s Fall/Winter 2006/2007
The sophisticated charm of royal beauties, the amazing allure of imperial feasts and the romantic style echoing Napoleon’s gliding parades are the essence of this Dolce & Gabbana fall/winter 2006-07 collection that played around the Emperor, his famous wives, and his well known lovers.
In the impression of a magic music box, which reveals its precious jewels one by one, Dolce & Gabbana presented a vibrant collection were each piece was a uniquely crafted and specially embellished work of art. Every look was created with distinctive detail and unique intricacies, while remaining modern and wearable. This signature style is now a trademark of the House.
Short jackets with metal buttons and military embroideries, à la Imperial Army, complement perfectly designed coats and fitted jackets in new proportions, which are worn over high-collared shirts. Tight knickers and jodhpurs accentuate the silhouette and create a long line when worn with high boots. Romantic capes and empire-waist baby doll dresses create a feminine counterbalance to the androgynous Imperial side of the collection. The result is a juxtaposition of Napoleon versus Josephine that celebrates the two sensual sides of a woman - a woman who plays with the symbols of power but knows that her real force is always found within.
The color palette and detailed accents of the collection are what truly define and distinguish each look. Sable, chalk, ice, and canvas are the most important colors that compose this serene palette. Touches of royal blue, deep red and emerald green, strategically used throughout the collection, add a regal opulence to the show. Detailed accents of gold-brushed chains, Napoleonic bees and gold laurel leaves create a strong statement of luxury, refinement, and elegance. In addition, over forty-three different kinds of intricacies (from archives of the most prestigious and historical Parisian couture atelier) glisten on coats, jackets, and dresses.
For accessories: delicate velvet slippers with gold stitching alternate with high boots; the must-have court shoe is in velvet, with a 6cm (to swap with the classic 11cm) heel.
The “Miss Waterloo” bag is shaped like an antique coin-purse, with a round buckle and a short leather and metal handle; the same fastening enhances the “Miss Lise” bag, in velvet and fine leathers. The “Gloriosa” bag is also in velvet (in lots of colours) or in leather, and has a dense DG embroidered logo with imperial laurel and gold chains. The bijou “Etoile” bags, in velvet and encrusted with pearls and feathers, complete the grand finale look; but the real “it-bag” for this season is the “Hot Baroque”, embellished with baroque buckles and gilt laurel leaves, produced in ostrich, eel or leather.
Beads, crystals, sequins, pearls, and feathers (some of which are hand painted in leopard or gilded in gold) are applied by hand to create thirteen unique gowns for the finale. In pure Imperial court style, each of these couture-like gowns express the essence of Dolce & Gabbana with their handcrafted signature workmanship and intricate detailing. Elegance, tailoring, refinement, and sensuality make up the perpetual allure and unmistakeable quality of this beautiful fall collection.
Men's Spring/Summer 2006
The Dolce & Gabbana man for S/S 2006 dreams of a positive, wonderful life: his models are the new and young protagonists of the musical scene in London, or of the Hollywood sets, like the Baby Shambles, Jude Law, Brad Pitt, Colin Farrell - icons that, apart from the success they have on the set, live a playful and rich life where love, family and beauty play an integral role.
The fashion show is organized around three main themes.
In the first, the new suits are presented in an exquisite and romantic way: coated linen and coated wool are used to create shiny jackets and trousers, with tailor-made details and perfect proportions. They are worn with a t-shirt (often ripped, or with advertising campaigns of the Seventies) or with sheer shirts.
The palette of colours gravitates to dark tones; white spots embellish the black shirts, and a thin pinstripe tie completes the "tailored" look.
Classic tailor-made suits, t-shirts, sneakers (more than 45 different styles of sneakers) compose “the” look for the day, which can be played around with according to occasion and personal taste; refined belts in crocodile, lizard or python add a statement of luxury to this revitalized and energetic formal wear.
“Personality” is an important aspect of this brand new collection, that in this second section presents an incredible mix of styles: jeans, either very slim and decorated with metal studs or more baggy, are worn with tank tops, t-shirts, slim coated sweaters; this “paparazzi-preventive” look is completed by worn-out leather accessories, big sunglasses and baseball caps.
The Dolce & Gabbana man, in fact, knows the art of looking very casual, though without overlooking details: zippers are sewn in twisted ways, are doubled or are strategically positioned. Belts are left open on low-waist jeans for a new trend of the season. Military pants and thin, coated shirts are worn with masculine accessories, like rings, chokers or refined watches, for an expression of freedom which is totally personal and always sophisticated, stylish and modern.
A new and clever trouser style is not to be missed. With a denim jean waist, this jogging pant is constructed of a soft and comfortable fabric - giving the casual illusion of a pair of athletic pants being worn over jeans. The jeans are marked with numbers, on the inside, to determine the crotch.
Jackets are constructed of a very light velvet, and fall perfectly on the body, underlining the shapes without ever forcing them.
The final part of the collection is dedicated to the superstars of the red carpet: all-white and all-black tuxedos are alternated with silver and gold ones.
The stage itself is hyper luxury, with a mirrored catwalk, leather floor and black Murano chandeliers.
Once again, the Dolce & Gabbana man confirms his self-confident, positive and ironic attitude to life and fashion, breaking new grounds of style, trend and refinement.
Women’s Fall/Winter 2005/2006
The Dolce & Gabbana Women’s collection for Fall / Winter 2005 / 06 is marks the return of a personal, sophisticated elegance, which blends and mixes the Dolce Vita style (typical of the fashion duo) with the inspirations of the Swinging London.
The photos of Jean Shrimpton, that David Bailey used to take in the Sixties, are the starting point to revisit that unforgettable era in a luxurious, lavish way: lines become softer, and the elegance of the clothes is played around a perfect cut, and around a new accord of proportions, accessories and personality.
Proportions: mini and maxi lengths characterize several looks. Mini skirts are worn under maxi coats in fur, trimmed wool or cashmere; long skirts are sported with short, extremely elegant jackets, perfectly cut; maxi fur collars and very light chiffon shirts create unexpected, dynamic volumes, defining a new silhouette perfect for the most fatal divas.
Accessories: with studs and crystals, in snake skin, crocodile, fur or astrakhan, bags are declined in an extraordinary variety of styles, which always keeps a delicious coherence. A masculine-style squared bag with a triple chain is realized in extremely feminine variants, to become the must-have of the season. Shoes have a three-centimetres or an eleven-centimetres thick heel; high boots are realized in unique combinations of crocodile and astrakhan, snake skin and fur, leather and mink.
Personality: the Dolce & Gabbana style is always innovative, at the forefront of sensuality and elegance. And this collection really breaks new ground in terms of personal style. The peculiar combination of masculine fabrics (like maxi Prince of Wales or tweed) with ultra-lavish furs, laces, precious leathers creates extraordinary pieces, that can be worn and sported in many creative ways for a look which is always unmistakably sensual, refined and glamourous.
Fur is worked in new, young and refined ways: skirts, jackets and coats are extremely soft and light, are dubbed in chiffon and assume a sensual, pure yet rich line which floats around the body as if fur were velvet, assuming opulent reflections.
Huge Surrealism-inspired buttons embellish coats and blouses, a touch of Russian de-constructivism is as well visible in the jewels, in the high hats with logoed-stirrups and in some remarkable finishing, or essential lines.
Precious and handmade details define and embellish each look: mohair embroideries, tulle flowers, chiffon touches, fur linings give an unmistakable, elegant, lavish concept to the collection. Sophisticated accords of dark blue and black determine the palette of colours, which includes as well camel, purple and grey.
For the spectacular evening, the glamourous style is declined in ultra precious one-of-a-kind pieces in white fur, white chiffon and white feathers, lighted by the sparkling reflects of diamonds.
The collection was opened by Chloé Sevigny. The actress who was nominated for an Oscar in 2000, at age 25, for her performance in “Boys Don’t Cry” has also made a name for herself as a world recognized style icon. She can been seen in a number of famous films, including Woody Allen’s “Melinda and Melinda”.
Men’s Fall/Winter 2005/2006
Now more than ever men feel the need and the wish to have the most suitable look for each moment of the day. With six different sets of clothes, ranging from the early-in-the-morning sport-inspired looks to the most lavish and spectacular outfits for the night, the Dolce & Gabbana Men’s Fall / Winter 2005/06 collection is meant to present in the most precise and luxurious way the whole selection of looks that a man may want: six style worlds that create an interesting and appealing balance of sportswear, formal wear, jeans and suits.
The first part of the collection is dedicated to “Gym”, which should be the first and healthy activity that a man does when he wakes up: a wide selection of pieces made for all sport disciplines (kick boxing, footing, tennis, football…), for training, for practising, but that can as well be used for a trendy city wear. Technical materials and light cotton are declined in eye-catching colours and fitting shapes.
The office wear for the young professionals is presented in the “Nine to Five” part, which is composed by perfectly cut pinstripe suits, with a fitting waist point and structured shoulders. With single-breasted or double-breasted jackets, these suits are styled in a “Clark Kent” look which is fully accessorized with trendy glasses and crocodile details, such formal shoes, belts, briefcases.
For men that prefer to go to the office by motorbike, the formal pinstripe jacket changes into a leather blouson with a double zip, to be worn with impeccable white shirt, tie and formal trousers, cut in a more energetic way.
Free time: light and deconstructed alpaca jackets are built on the trompe-l’oeil concept of “double”: two jackets sewn one on the other with a special technique, that are worn on painted and ripped jeans, or on camouflage trousers with metallic studs. Fox coats and jackets with camouflage details make the perfect look for the relaxing hours at open air, completed with motorbike boots and weekend bags in crocodile or snakeskin. Jeans and trousers are enriched with a double metal chain, that is really the key-accessory of the season, hooking the wallet or keys into the jeans; t-shirts are worn out or asymmetric, always perfect on the body.
Sexy night: perfectly cut velvet jackets with torched silk piping, and silk / cotton shirts create a monochrome effect in black, blue and purple; and, for a man who wants to feel like a superstar, here are the T-shirts with three super heroes made in sequins – Batman, Robin, Superman. Broaches, two belts, rings and necklaces complete the look, which is enhanced by crocodile coloured shoes or boots and by a huge range of sneakers in the most precious fabrics (tweed, tartan, astrakhan, crocodile, lizard).
Denim: thirteen different kinds of jeans are worn on the catwalk by bare-breasted models, with details such as neck chains and double bracelets. Studs, pins, precious leather inserts (snakeskin, crocodile, pony skin) create unique pieces. Jeans are always a key part of the Dolce & Gabbana collection: very special and peculiar, each one of these models requires a careful hand-working, and a precise cut that gives it its unmistakable style.
Evening: a precious, beautiful selection of velvet tuxedos is proposed for the most sparkling and shiny night. White jackets with black piping on the lapels are worn on black velvet trousers; blue, green, deep red jackets are alternated to the classic black ones, with a silk scarf attached. Silk, velvet and brocade are the crucial fabrics that define the look for these “red carpet” tuxedos, young and sensual, which are completed by broaches and refined details.
Masculine, sleek, appealing and complete, this collection really offers a wide, luxurious, balanced range of perfect looks, thus making it easy always to have the most suitable look for each moment of the day.
Women's Spring/Summer 2005
The Dolce & Gabbana Spring / Summer 2005 collection is played around a rich, sophisticated atmosphere of African glamour: after exploring and developing the deep roots of their Sicilian and Mediterranean nature, Dolce & Gabbana have in fact now decided to move to Africa for the latest inspirations.
The images and dreams that this continent has evoked in the Designers’ minds have set the stage for unparalleled luxury. Reminiscent of the memorable images that Richard Avedon used to shoot in the late Seventies, portraying a natural but glamorous beauty, and the evocative universe of Irving Penn and his reportages from Africa, Dolce & Gabbana have interpreted a modern and sophisticated collection, where “Luxury is More!”.
Balance and proportion are played with throughout the collection in both the fabrics and the tailoring. The perfectly tailored outfits alternate with light chiffon dresses and precious leathers mark the sign of a wild yet sophisticated elegance, where style is a matter of fine detailing and intricacies. Luxurious and exclusive fabrications from silk to snake are used to guarantee a light and sleek alternative to the simple and fresh cotton, so that silk ribbons and cotton wires are interwoven with jaïs, paillettes and linen.
Trousers are very slim and sexy, and shorts alternate to couture-style miniskirt, encrusted with feathers and chains. There is not a singular and unique proportion throughout the collection – instead there is contrast and compliment of soft or very built tailoring…preciously embellished coats and very mini skirts… the lightest chiffon, lined in crocodile, paired with lace and snakeskin… structure combined with ease. Everything a lady will need to take her through her travels, and beyond.
The accessories are about extremes – mini “mother-daughter” handbags, that can be hooked onto belt loops (another “must-have” look) and dangled around the waist – or hugely oversized straw bags, with snakeskin or crocodile details to define the style.
Highly expected and very selective, the “Zodiac bag” is proposed in different and lavish versions: each buckle, representing one of the twelve signs of the Zodiac, can be chosen and placed on the handbag, for special personalization of the most desired accessory.
Shoes, in wild animal prints with Swarovski details, are either toweringly high or slight and flat and are detailed in the most delicious variety of animal prints, carp skin, snake or crocodile.
Luxury, glamour and refined details define once more an unmistakably sensual look, made of deep Italian roots and exotic sensations: special pieces and unique finishing convey the dreams, irony and elegance that are worldwide known and recognized as Dolce & Gabbana style.
Men's Spring/Summer 2005
With bold colours and bright hues, couture lines and elegant simplicity, ultra-precious jeans and exclusive fabrics, the Dolce & Gabbana man for Spring/Summer 2005 moves about with witty savoir-faire, confident of his power and allure.
This power – and charisma – is reflected by the unmistakable style of a collection that is simple yet special. And it is a charismatic appeal that is utterly sensuous and decidedly masculine, refined yet a bit mischievous.
The Dolce & Gabbana man prefers jackets with a single low button. Worn over an open shirt or an unbuttoned grandad shirt, they highlight every line of his body to make even the most traditional suit sexy and dynamic. This year’s suit, with a slightly looser fit, can feature pointed lapels or double-breasted jackets, for a late Seventies look that evokes such style icons as Magnum PI and Miami Vice.
Intricate openwork shirts in cotton, artfully stained denim and linen batiste, with contrasting collars and cuffs can be seen throughout the collection. The styling trend for this season is the double shirt, for eye-catching layering with different colors and styles, lightweight or sheer fabrics, and collars in various lengths.
The new shirts are layered over cotton Henley t-shirts or cotton and hemp tank tops are worn under a shantung suit or over jeans. Jeans boast a kaleidoscope of details and decorations: gemstones set along the entire length, studs, bleaching and, above all, multicolored embroidery with a tropical feel. The unmistakable cut of Dolce & Gabbana jeans distinguishes a collection that plays with color. Garment-dyed items in bright shades (blue, purple, yellow, green) and with contrasting cuts are worn with Henley t-shirts, tank tops or shirts in matching colors. Ultra-elegant or sporty outfits flaunt the classic “Jaguar” colors: green, deep burgundy and dusty blue.
Top quality leather is used for accessories that pay special attention to important styling details.
Alligator, eel skin and pony skin loafers are decorated with a golden stirrup or the letters “D” and “G” – in gold, of course. The stirrup also embellishes canvas espadrilles, and gilt initials reappear on the soles of the most elegant shoes. The sneakers, featherweight and technically flawless, come in an infinite array of colors and prints.
Love is in the air, with a sensual yet insolently naughty aura and that ever-present sense of humor, for the man who likes who he is and who loves to love, be loved and experience life. Without ever forgetting his Mediterranean roots and magnetic style.
Women’s Fall/Winter 2004/2005
A tribute to the legendary Helmut Newton and the elegant, sensual women he captured in the unforgettable images for Yves Saint Laurent in the 1970’s: these iconic images set the mood for the Dolce & Gabbana women’s Fall/Winter 2004/05 collection, without making any specific reference to the Seventies style.
This is the season of extreme femininity and opulence. The Dolce & Gabbana woman is looking for great luxury and refinement – hat veils, exquisite sunglasses in crocodile and eel-skin, sheer seamed stockings and teetering high heels are the finishing touches to a look of total sophistication. Masculine versus feminine is the game at play this Fall/Winter season with tailored fabrics that are sober and severe yet softened and sensual when enhanced with details of lace or jewels making the garments unmistakably Dolce & Gabbana. An alpaca overcoat is trimmed in eel-skin with a rich fur collar and a pretty printed chiffon lining hides beneath; a gray check slim skirt has inlays of pink lace that offers unexpected contrast and movement to the silhouette; the edges of a fine cashmere cardigan are encrusted with crystals; a lace waistcoat lends a gentle touch to a masculine cut suit.
This harmony of contrasts and richness of style brings a new level of polished perfection to the Dolce & Gabbana collection for the Fall/Winter 2004 season. Luxurious knee length fox fur coats in gray, green and red are contrasted with sharply tailored satin velvet or cashmere pinstriped pant suits, offering a dramatic silhouette and paired with a feminine lace top or a crisp white shirt sporting a spectacular bow. Lavish fox fur stoles layer over chiffon tops, while the classic little black dress is enriched with jeweled or lace details and sensual slits expose just enough skin.
The typical Dolce & Gabbana irony, so, is also reflected in a combination of masculine fabrics and feminine details, in the exuberance and richness of the decorative elements.
Walt Disney characters on t-shirts offer a light-hearted moment of fun in true Dolce & Gabbana style; Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy are in fact brought to life with layer upon layer of sequins and bead work.
Dolce & Gabbana believes in promoting individual style and this season gives the opportunity to mix many styles, colors, textures and silhouettes. Exotic skin shoes in crocodile, python and eel-skin bring a luxurious touch to any look in closed toe and peep toe styles. Irresistible details include jeweled T-bars, feathers and ribbon bows for the ultimate in fantasy footwear. The “it” bag of the season is the “Superstar”, a shoulder bag with a gold logo chain handle, edged in gold with a large jeweled pin attached. Offered in lush fabrics and alternate trims with a variety of different pins, no fashionable lady will be without her personal favorite this Fall/Winter season.
For evening, and as the grand finale of the runway show, a spectacular vignette of glamorous evening gowns in velvet, lace and silk chiffon with richly jeweled necklines or abundant Swarovski crystal detailing, are contrasted with velvet or satin slim tuxedo suits in black or cream that altogether honor the memory of the chic, sensual sophistication of photographer Helmut Newton. Top models including Nadja Auermann, Eva Herzigova, Stella Tennant, Hannelore and up-coming model Riley Keough (the grand-daughter of Elvis Presley) helped to magically capture the elegant and exuberant spirit that is true Dolce & Gabbana.
Men’s Fall/Winter 2004/2005
La Dolce Vita. These very words instantly evoke sophistication, sensuality and great individual style that’s purely Italian. This is the clear message that defines every Dolce & Gabbana men’s collection, and for the Fall/Winter 2004/05 season the message is stronger than ever thanks to great attention to detail, crisp clean silhouettes and the finest fabrics.
The Dolce & Gabbana man loves life and he likes to show it through his own unique personal style. He chooses the finest fabrics that are rich yet understated and silhouettes that are sharply elegant. Jackets in all forms are extremely important, such as trenches in intense colored eel skin, short fur-lined jean jackets or alpaca and cashmere overcoats, all perfectly proportioned.
In addition crocodile and python accessories the collection features, fine eel skin in belts, shoes and oversized weekend bags add a fresh element to his look. Belts have eye-catching graphic buckles in high-shine gold and silver or elegantly logo-shaped; they are worn with classic, crisply tailored yet modern cut trousers for surprising distinction.
In an exclusive wool and cotton blend fabric, the Dolce & Gabbana classic trousers are updated and more masculine. Not only the instantly recognizable Dolce & Gabbana cut jeans but flawlessly elegant trousers that offer a crisp, clean line. As usual contrast is key, with a sharply tailored trouser and velvet blazer worn with a lighthearted “animal” T-shirt that features a lion cub, wolf pup, baby elephant or jaguar kitten. With similar irony and contrast his favorite international vacation spots are printed on the softest, finest cashmere for a fresh take on an old classic and worn under a tailored suit or a bold check coat. Jeans, the eternal signature piece of Dolce & Gabbana, are presented in six different color dyes with logos in pony, painted on, embroidered, shadow painted or metallic creating a series of interesting logo effects.
Innovative removable fur linings offered in different lengths play with proportions when worn under various styles of jacket and add personality to his unique style, along with chunky hand-knitted wool cardigans, cargo trousers and pony skin short jackets.
Today, fashion is an international language in itself and this season some of the world’s alphabets appear on various items: the Dolce & Gabbana logo in, Cyrillic alphabet, becomes a decorative detail enhancing leather jackets and cotton cargo trousers. Chinese and Japanese characters are used to detail oversized jackets, trousers and jeans.
The ever-popular Dolce & Gabbana sneaker combines international flavor with ultimate style and comfort. The colors of flags around the world are contrasted on a wide selection of different colored sneakers. The new generation combat boot laces high up the leg with hiking hooks. Eel skin, crocodile, python and calfskin shoes have the signature-elongated toe slightly squared off this season.
The Dolce & Gabbana man lives the “Dolce Vita”, he is always the right person in the right clothes at the right time and this is reflected in the exquisite formalwear finale of this season’s runway show. A sensational selection of beautifully tailored tuxedos and tuxedo shirts in a wealth of fine jacquard fabrics set him apart from the crowd.
Just like a new Anita Ekberg, the unforgettable heroine of Fellini’s La Dolce Vita, supermodel Rie Rasmussen dips her feet into the Trevi Fountain wrapped in a floaty evening silk and chiffon gown, wearing Cartier jewelry, hailing Italian icon Marcello Mastroianni, “Marcello, come here!” Surrounding her and other beautiful girls in exquisite black evening gowns is a display of how every man wants to be – confident, masculine and elegant in his crisp “Martini” tuxedo or suit, so unmistakably Italian in his incredible sense of style.
Men’s Spring/Summer 2004
For Spring/Summer 2004 Dolce and Gabbana brings a positive and optimistic attitude to men’s fashion. The runway, staged as a private beachfront party complete with Martini bar fitted with tropical aquariums, evoked a sunny, stylish, up-beat atmosphere where friends enjoy themselves together. A happy hour on the beach where an extraordinary live performance by R&B legend Jocelyn Brown charged the air with energy for a collection full of elegant easy proportions in bright and light colors.
Dressed in leopard skin like a disco diva of the Seventies, Jocelyn Brown perfectly interpreted the spirit of the runway show with her unmistakable voice and vitality. A vitality that emerged on the runway in the sexy, sporty looks that offer the ultimate in effortless dressing while paying close attention to the accessories that define the true luxury of the Dolce & Gabbana man this season. David Beckham, the new style icon was a source of inspiration: pale blue or white tuxedos made of linen, silk and exclusive textured fabrics, soft threadbare jeans and jackets reworked by hand for a meticulous finish and decidedly sexy when paired with a tuxedo style button down shirt worn casually open.
Blazers and jackets are the key item of the season whether tailored with fine satin lapels or more casual sporty styles in the softest washed linen or the supplest white or powder blue leather. Knits come in loose stitch chenille, raw but super soft cotton in pale earth tones and lightweight merino knits with interesting design details like denim patches. Shirts come in bright print fabrics that evoke a vintage feeling: giant Hibiscus flowers in shades of pink, multicolored stripes and psychedelic prints that also come in swimwear and sneakers. Cargo pants are ultra light with a slight wrinkled effect for casual coolness, stamped words and hand-stitched details give a new freshness to this wardrobe staple. Aged leather is used for short close fitting jackets while a biker jacket in patchwork calfskin is a highlight of the season.
Luxurious accessories that define the style of the season enrich this simple and elegant collection. Shoes and bags in crocodile or snakeskin, leather sandals embossed with gem stones and eyewear decorated with coral are just some of the essential details. Aged leather belts with large zodiac belt buckles offer individual style. Sandals in fluorescent hues, sneakers in floral prints and tennis shoes emblazoned with international flags complete any look with flair.
And as the Beckham family confirms, behind every great man there is always a great woman. For a magnificent finale, Hollywood style, Naomi, Eva Herzegova, Eva Riccobono, Rie and Rachel Zimmerman sizzled in exquisitely cut one of a kind evening gowns that completed a show that celebrated life with the free and joyous voice of Jocelyn Brown.
Women’s Spring/Summer 2004
A sense of joy, vitality, luxury and happiness is the spirit of the Dolce & Gabbana women’s collection for the Spring/Summer 2004 season. An inimitable fusion of elements – colour, texture, prints - with special attention to detail is all wrapped up in an air of optimism and joie de vivre that will bring the sun out early in 2004!
The Dolce & Gabbana woman is simply mad about prints for spring. The historic archives of Italian silk mills were opened and combed to rediscover more than 45 prints that have been reinterpreted in different fabrics and colors to create a new and surprising vitality. Silk, brocade, chiffon and featherweight cotton in a plethora of prints create a dazzling display of overlapping eras and styles. The prints of the 60’s are splashed across lean pants a la Brigitte Bardot, while jewel buttons and 70’s prints offset the impeccably cut “lady” suit reminiscent of the 1950’s with a short jacket and three quarter length sleeves. Chiffon dresses made from layers upon layers of delicate ruffles in contrasting prints, miniskirts with side slits and jewel buttons, chiffon blouses that tie at the waist, arm or neck are fresh and feminine. The Southern Mediterranean influence is always there in the black lace dresses, leopard silk linings, richly embroidered jackets and black and white tailored suits that are instantly recognizable as Dolce & Gabbana. A sense of humour in comic book prints, colourful, floral tights and huge, soft flowers made of silk, brocade and chiffon (each petal made with a different print and fabric) add a soft, feminine touch to jackets and tops.
For evening, a spectacular selection of exquisite evening gowns are breathtakingly beautiful and luxurious. From richly decorated Swarovski crystal dresses to unique hand embroidered floral details, all in mouth-watering colors. Reminiscent of old Hollywood glamour, this stunning collection of eveningwear is sophisticated and feminine, perfectly capturing every woman’s dream of walking the red carpet.
The Dolce & Gabbana woman adores accessories and this season her passion for prints continues through to shoes with printed wedge heels, hats, bags and even sunglasses. Elegantly contrasting prints from head to toe creates the dynamic Dolce & Gabbana look of the season. Throughout this explosion of colour and prints there is a sobriety that shines through in the use of python, crocodile, eel and whips on shoes and bags alike. Shoes have an elegant wedge, a high stiletto or a platform that gives a little extra lift, but never too obvious. Swarovski crystals adorn stiletto heels and are scattered over brightly colored bags. For a touch of urban chic there are sneakers in floral prints, detailed with crocodile or snake for added luxury. The fun continues with the must-have bags of the season: the hobo bag in different sizes comes in prints and bright solids all trimmed with brightly colored exotic skins and the super chic clutch in colored snakeskin decorated with a gleaming steel DG, and finally the Dolce & Gabbana floral Kelly bag, a reinterpreted classic, Dolce & Gabbana style! The Dolce & Gabbana accessory collection is never neutral, unmistakable, modern and standout for a woman who is well travelled, conscious of her femininity and unquestionably confident in her choice of accessories. Joyful, sensual and full of vitality - this is pure Dolce & Gabbana.
Women’s Fall/Winter 2003/2004
For fall / winter 2003 – 04 Dolce & Gabbana presents a modern and sophisticated collection full of new ideas in tailoring, silhouettes and contrasts while always undeniably romantic. The Dolce & Gabbana woman confronts the rigors of next winter wrapped in a collection that is reminiscent of her old favorites while always looking forward for something new. The seductive spirit of film icons like Marilyn Monroe inspires the sensual, flirtatious fashions that are signature Dolce & Gabbana.
A form fitting black satin mini dress opens the show worn with an oversized nylon neon orange parka. Pinstriped tailored suits offer new proportions with a transformable jacket that unbuttons into a vest. Snaps, buttons and hook and eye details create truly innovative designs allowing floor length mink coats, stretch wool dresses and tailored jackets to be worn long, short, with sleeves or without. High waisted pants are worn with a sensational selection of white button down shirts with bow, button or ruching details that play with the traditional silhouette.
Contrast is key. Techno nylon pants are paired with romantic fringed embroidered flapper tops; floral silk flirty dresses are worn under oversized nylon parkas with brightly colored strap details. Optical prints in skirts, tops and dresses are contrasted with brightly colored fake fur jackets trimmed in sable or mink. Vivid primary colors punctuate the strong presence of black; a perfectly tailored canary yellow belted coat worn with solid black hose and optical print shoes is one of the highlights of this fresh use of color and contrast.
A staggering finale of one of a kind evening gowns closed the show. Corsetry, crystals, lace, fringe and tulle were masterfully combined into thirteen dresses that define glamour and sensuality in true Dolce & Gabbana style.
Accessories are more important than ever offering exciting new ideas with interesting details that define the Dolce & Gabbana look of the season. Refined crocodile shoes, bags and belts come in Pop art inspired colors such as bright orange, bottle green, yellow, lavender and pink adding spark to tailored looks.
Black and white optical prints on shoes and bags give an ultra modern twist. Clutches and handbags in black and cream patent leather feature subtle logo print.
Innovative bag designs come in segments of suede and leather in varying shades of color with functioning buttons and snaps that allow you to alter the shape and length of the bag. Buttons are also found on sling backs and pumps while sneakers in hot citrus colors will standout in the midst of a long winter. Suede high heel boots have a snap system that allows the boot to be worn at three different heights. Luxurious shaved mink bags have similar snap details that allow you to play with the shape.
Biker inspired details like nylon straps, cords and aggressive metallic details come on bags and boots. Heavy motorcross boots come in red, white or black and offer the ultimate in techno romance.
As always the Dolce & Gabbana woman is never without her exotic animal prints and hints of safari that she loves. Zebra, leopard and ocelot print shoes, boots and clutches trimmed in patent leather are fun and prominently define her look just as she likes it! Inspired by the goddesses of the silver screen, head-turning glamour is offered in the highest of heels with audacious platforms, clutch style handbags give a nod to the 50’s stars, belts come in a dynamic myriad of colors in suede and patent leather. Like a Ginger Rogers of today she plays the leading role in her dream accessories: glittering paillette pumps and sling backs, delicately jewelled sandals and fringed mink bags that are ultimately seductive and feminine.
Men's Fall/Winter 2003/2004
The Men’s Fall/Winter 2003/04 Collection reflects changes in the world today that are significantly influencing fashion, and offers a fresh perspective on elegant dressing. There is a return to true elegance that is sober and masculine, harmoniously contrasted with the success of street style dictated by the style of the rap and hip-hop stars like Eminem and P. Diddy. These nouveau riche are young men projected into a new world and they are looking for a fresh and approachable elegance. For this reason, the Dolce & Gabbana man always remains faithful to tradition while incorporating a style that allows him to have fun with how he dresses.
The fall/winter 2003 collection introduces “Dolce & Gabbana Sartoria”, a suiting collection that is hand finished with superior details: fabrics are of the highest quality, exclusively made for Dolce & Gabbana. The tuxedo is always an essential part of the Dolce & Gabbana man’s wardrobe in classic and modern styles to suit the occasion and mood.
In a very personal and different way of dressing, contrast is key. Whether it’s a classic cashmere blazer worn with silver hi-tech sneakers or crocodile mixed with rubberized canvas weekend bags, it’s a perfect harmony of traditional and street style, luxury and functionality. Herringbone coats come with attached hooded sweaters beneath, “transformer” knits and trousers have zips and buttons that play with their silhouette, coats and jackets come totally reversible. He plays with proportions, pairing contrasting volumes like an oversized sweater paired with lean trousers, extra large coats over a simple T-shirt. The Dolce & Gabbana man demands high quality fabrics and workmanship yet is hip with his style and wants to be seduced with innovative design ideas that keep him looking original.
While always tied to the traditions of his past, he goes forward with confidence to the future. Fascinated by space and moon travel, he prepares himself in a metallic glow of jackets and buckles. Innovative lightweight fabrics, like silver rubber coated cotton or paper-nylon, are used for rainproof jackets and modular quilted jackets – covered in pockets, zips and straps for maximum comfort and practicality.
In an era dominated by uncertainty and want to protect oneself, the Dolce & Gabbana man rediscovers the military style, which has always fascinated him. Parachute jackets feature straps, buckles, zips and pockets while original military bags are re-tooled and patch-worked to make jackets and pants. Double breasted jackets of varying lengths; buttoned waist trousers and asymmetrical knits are a nod to the Navy and Marines style.
Men's Spring/Summer 2003
The D&G men’s Spring/Summer 2003 collection sets the scene for an idyllic and active day at the beach.
Regardless of age the D&G man can’t wait to get beneath the sun, taking as many friends and family with him as he can, insuring he will always have a partner for playing sports.
He revels in the crowds that gather by the water and lives by the mentality that more really is merrier.
In low slung cargo pants in lightweight fabrics such as linen and cotton he often wears them unzipped down the side or front.
They are his favorite pants and he owns them in many colors from military green to dusty pink.
Athletic mesh sports pants in bright colors are always on hand so he can pick up a game of baseball with his friends.
Always individual he customizes his tops by cutting off sleeves and adding extra buttons to create his own kind of polo shirt.
Layering is key whether or its athletic pants under distressed jeans or a polo shirt under a striped button down or satin bomber jacket.
As the temperature rises he changes into his cotton or distressed denim shorts and always there is a pair of sexy swim shorts for body surfing or tanning.
His accessories help complete his look and add to his personal style.
His favorite accessory is his frayed denim visor that has faded to a pale pastel from too much sun.
Colorful sneakers and sandals are his footwear of choice while he never leaves home without his terry cloth wrist and headband always ready for a game of tennis.
Woman's Spring/Summer 2003
The Dolce & Gabbana woman redesigns herself once again by wearing the clothing of her first success.
She prints the word "Vintage" on the labels of the clothes she has never forgotten and which have never been as up to date as they are today:
Ten 'strong' pieces, the guêpières which are all lacings and hooks; the white shirt with its black elastic band; the male suit; the miniskirt with self-clinging stockings; the transformist dresses; the tailleur in stretch jersey; draped dresses and the eternal pinstripe.
All rigorously black.
The accessories refer to today: the world’s most slender 12 cm stiletto heels, fire-red or studded boots, handcuffs and chokers display the key words of 'Sex' and 'Love'.
An eye on the past, an eye to the future.
This is the new experimentation for warrior women who wear extremely light one-piece jumpsuits in cotton batiste coated with silver, miniskirts in suede à la Roman gladiator and the breast-straps of the Walkyries. Warriors, although romantic.
Coming off the Dolce & Gabbana ship we have young female sailors with striped trousers, white officers' uniforms, cabin-boy jeans, low-necked knitwear, mini-dresses with studded bomber jackets in the style of "On the Waterfront", managerial college shirts and jersey miniskirts.
Like birds of paradise, they cover themselves with feathers or keep warm with aggressive fur coats with chain mail inserts.
Like modern Messalinas they wear peplums in jersey or chiffon with embroidered laurel leaves or draped tunics with colors that range from fire-red to pastels.
Belts, belts and even more belts on trousers, bomber jackets and tops.
Precious embroidery embellishes coats, minidresses and tank tops. Sandals of the slave or with a fetish intent.
Soft, ankle-length stiletto boots, studded biker boots, pumps with the world's most slender heel with an anti-snatch lock.
Bags decorated with snaps can be manipulated into various shapes and sizes.
Shoulder bags in fur and metal. Studs everywhere, chokers, chains and belts... these are the indispensable accessories for "going back to the future".

Woman's Fall/Winter 2002/2003
The legend is told in the Sicilian town of S. Alfio that there is a chestnut-tree which is 3000 years old and that beneath its inviting branches Queen Juana of Aragon and her one hundred knights took refuge, surprised during her journey by a storm.
And it is below these centuries-old branches that the Dolce & Gabbana woman looks for her roots, once again finds her nobility, rests and relaxes in the safety of old certainties.
With the Dolce & Gabbana Fall/Winter 2002-2003 fashion show, in fact, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana present a collection steeped in the traditions of the rustic Sicilian lifestyle.
A redefined luxury is offered in handcrafted fabrics and details that with each piece exude a certain unique quality.
In a return to the family traditions of old, there is a focus on fine workmanship and a hand-made feeling of comfort.
A hand-knit mink cardigan, leather floral-applique on coats inspired by antique Sicilian furniture and hand-fringed ponchos and skirts are all examples of this refined rustic glamour.
Chinchilla-lined coats and chunky cashmere cable-knits embrace the wearer in supreme opulence and intimate comfort.
Corduroy pants and fringed A-line skirts are a relaxed fit.
Tailored three-piece suits are paired with silk chiffon masculine shirts.
