Press release
Girl Collection Fall/Winter 2009/2010
Mood: A true Western World meltin’ pot, where different philosophies and lifestyles entwine, creating many different interpretations of a proposal which is closer and closer to that of the D&G main collections.
I love denim: Denim declined in all its possibilities, from couture inspirations
to printed knitwear for a 70’s inspirations. Blue is the predominant colour and
is proposed in all its hues. Washes from indigo, to burnt to mustard.
Baseball: Inspired by the baseball world, this finds its strength in the absolute
respect of the aesthetic canons of the sport. The colours are declined in hues
such as green, melange grey, blue and off-white. Comfortable shapes for girls
with a sharp fit, for a casual look.
London City: The unique weave of cultures and lifestyles you can only find
walking by London’s neighbourhoods inspire a true mix of interpretations.
Two images are inhabiting this theme: one is more casual and with a ‘britpop’
edge, the other is more sophisticated and chic, with precious materials
such as brocades and velvet. Butterfly prints inspired by the 40’s in complete
synergy with the women’s collection. The result is an original patchwork of
colours, materials and looks with a British flavour.
Super Model: Inspired by the backstage at fashion shows, this theme reinterprets
the world of super-models with an ironic twist. This proposal is of
a great impact, thanks to the animalier prints on pony skin coats and chunky
knitwear to wear with leggings, dresses and twin-sets.
Boy Collection Fall/Winter 2009/2010
I love denim: Infused with a 70’s vibe, this theme make denim the main player.
Washes vary from the classic to the audacious. T-shirts with photographic prints are a reminder of the era’s ads and suggest a real parallel with the adult collections.
Baseball: Great photographic prints feature scenes of players on the pitch and emphasize this theme. Numbers, stripes and other symbols which can be easily linked to baseball give this collection exuberance and verve. The looks are numerous and can be used in many different situations, both a formal attire which will require the vintage-looking jackets and the sporty looks for every-day use.
London City: Real London postcards as well as the Union Jack, are the inspiration behind the knitwear of this theme. Fabrics vary between denim, herringbone and hound’s-tooth. The colours go from a melange of greys to navy blues, and dark browns proposed with powder blues.
Military: An exclusive proposal from D&G, which is reminiscent of the military world thanks to its colour palette, ranging between green, beige and brown.
The lines are softer and the details are simple yet edgy, the graphics clean and sophisticated.
Essential: The D&G FW 09/10 Junior Collection is complete thanks to various items of cashmere knitwear styled with denim or fleece trousers, both for boys and for girls.

Mix&Match: Purple, geranium, peacock, burgundy and all-over prints on bell-bottom trousers, mini-skirts and skinny pullovers with 1950s college graphics and look. Floral prints juxtaposed on tartans for an ironic look that’s never ordinary.

Mood: The global culture of young citizens of the world is conveyed in this collection dedicated to little boys with strong echoes of America in the colours of the Great Lakes and prairies, blending with allusions to Sicily and the Mediterranean in the dominant themes of WILD CITY and
A TASTE OF THE SOUTH.

Fall/Winter 2006/2007
D&G’s little women will have a wardrobe for all times of day in Autumn-Winter 2006-07.
The Glitter Star theme features kiddie skaters: lines and colours of the ice dance world enhanced with glitter graphics, stars and precious details.
The dominant colour is navy, combined with white, red, pink and grey mélange and striped motifs.
For the flirty, romantic girl, the theme is Velvet Print with floral prints on smooth velvets and treated denim. The vintage-feel prints prefer Seventies’ style cult advertising subjects.
The New Portrait theme is the expression of true elegance, inspired by a portrait of old-style Sicily, starring black with hints of wool lace and crochet that express the excellence of Made in Italy.
Velvet, astrakhan, satin, lace and jersey are combined with denim to create soft, warm pieces like bombers and short coats.
Crocheted mohair flowers enhance cardigans and sweatshirts, with prints brighten up black t-shirts and blouses.
Delicate shades of milky white and antique pink are the backdrop for the Sweet Home look: a romantic style in which the floral motif is the outright star of the show.
Ruching, crochet and mohair trims embellish the garments and make them even more girly.
Treated, distressed tweed is presented in an original casual look for jeans-cut trousers and bombers. Coloured sequins and beads are embroidered onto jersey t-shirts for a flirty look.
The D&G boy gets a tough, upfront look in the Fans Jump theme, with colour in the front line. Red, hazelnut, navy alternate to highlight fabric mixes of plush, towelling and denim that sketch out stars, numbers and very sporty slogans.
Bomber jackets in knitted fabric cut with denim inserts are the theme’s cult item.
Lots of details to enhance each tastefully-created novel, practical garment: branded zip-ups and belts with logos.
Kiddies’ thirst for adventure is the theme for Fish 4 Fun, expressed in clothing inspired by fishing in the north seas: a mix of seafaring stripes dominated by blue, red, grey and cream. Prints and embroidery conjure up a Norwegian feel for t-shirts and polo shirts.
Denim appears in various nuances of “navy-style” washes, waistbands lined with branded underwear elastic. Gabardine oversize trousers feature buttons and trims.
The Italian Player theme has gritty, comfortable garments that follow the D&G Junior kid on his metropolitan days.
Slogans, prints and embroidery with a sporty feel, inspired by the world of football, decorate sweatshirts and t-shirts with a sport-chic feel.
Cardigans, sweatshirts and crewneck sweaters mix black, grey and ecru.
And when he’s tired of football, the D&G Junior lad will get down to the country for some Farm Style.
The colour palette includes rust, mud, sand and burgundy, with a special treatment for fabrics to give them vintage-look “used” style: printed t-shirts using subjects from old ads, with denim meeting sheepskins and tweed for comfy, warm big jackets.
D&G Junior’s “baby boy” and “baby girl” take inspiration from the bigger kids wardrobe, with more comfortable, bright colours for next winter’s D&G Junior Newborn range.
Fall/Winter 2005/2006
D&G Junior has drawn its inspiration for the Autumn/Winter 2005/06 collection from Seventies films, and in particular spaghetti westerns, fitting out little cowboys and cowgirls.
However, D&G Junior’s West has rock overtones, enabling old America style denim garments with mother-of-pearl buttons to be mixed with rocker prints and studs, but also vintage-look checked shirts and jackets worn with jeans and beige trousers.
Western girls wear jeans with suede fringes, which also adorn their boots.
However, they are unable to resist the extreme femininity of long suede trench coats with white lace cuffs or lilac striped sweatshirts with Lurex details, which contrast with their masculine cowboy boots.
The references to films continue, recalling memories of Once Upon a Time in America, where gangs of street urchins dress like a young Robert De Niro, with cloth cap and baggy denim trousers with a well-worn look and leather details.
The theme is developed with melange t-shirts and sweatshirts in shades of blue and rust, bomber jackets with grey fleece linings and hoods, and low boots.
America is also the focus of the ice hockey theme devised for the sportiest children, who seek the practicality of soft forms and resistant fabrics.
The boys’ team can rely on thick navy blue, red, white and grey melange sweatshirts and jogging suits, a wide choice of sneakers in the same shades, and denim jackets.
Each garment is characterised by an Italian flag badge.
The little cheerleaders, who urge the players on, wear sporty sweatshirts embellished with rhinestones, which sometimes form an Italian flag logo or numbers, accompanied by feminine flounced denim skirts with leather inserts, logo design socks and sneakers.
Their outfits are topped by little denim bomber jackets with a worn look, adorned with fleece cuffs and collars with Lurex threads. The dominant colours are red, grey melange and blue.
D&G Junior girls discover the enchantment of a fairytale world with a theme inspired by the carefree Pippi Longstocking, which features embroidered pink and yellow flowers on jeans and the thick jacquard fabric of the coats, cardigans and skirts.
Pixie green brocade fabric is used for coats, trousers and little dresses with denim inserts to be teamed with t-shirts with glittery slogans or stripes with Lurex thread, worn with suede boxing shoes with embroidered flowers.
The velvet petal trousers and skirts with embroidered bouquets are fit for real-life fairies and match the coordinating boots.
For baby boys, D&G Junior focuses on the ice hockey theme, creating delightful two-coloured crew-neck sweatshirts and cardigans characterised by a giant Italian flag motif, teamed with fleece or denim jogging pants and dungarees.
For baby girls, D&G Junior offers t-shirts, sweatshirts, parkas and comfortable trousers in leopard or tiger print fabrics embellished with rhinestone logos.
Spring/Summer 2005
For Spring/Summer 2005, D&G Junior draws its inspiration from the imaginations of children to create an original, colourful and very versatile wardrobe.
The playroom of little D&G Junior girls is turned into an enchanted beauty salon where they can have fun playing at being little women with makeup and wigs.
The make up theme includes straight little cotton dresses with a ‘50s cut in plain pink and yellow, with the addition of polka dots and bon ton bows as well as Capri pants played down with sugary vests and T-shirts with prints featuring lipsticks, perfumes, brushes and everything else necessary for getting dolled up.
Charming prints also appear on skirts and trousers matched with multi-stripe T-shirts in shades of fuchsia and orange, or with a small Vichy check.
Once playtime with make-up is over it is time for tea which, given the nice weather, is taken in the garden.
The country theme proposes romantic little all-over flower prints on blouses, dresses, skirts and trousers as well as belts and footwear; lilac and pale blue petals blossom against white backgrounds.
Embroidered flowers that form the D&G Junior logo also appear on jeans pockets, to be worn with cotton fine-knit cardigans or T-shirts with glitter prints of mouth-watering cakes, puddings and steaming cups. Whilst the little girls prefer the calm of the countryside, little D&G boys prove they are more adventurous and set off for faraway destinations.
They bring back red postcard T-shirts with lions and the South African flag from African safaris: these also appear on safari hats along with sage green, camouflage, sand and ecru that together go to make up trousers with big pockets, body warmers and bomber jackets that look like they have been brought over from the steppe.
The traveller theme does not stop here, taking little ones all the way to Hawaii; thus burgundy and white hibiscuses decorate cargo pants that mix up denim and fabric.
The little D&G globetrotter uses his trousers as a travel souvenir, making up a patchwork with the flags of the different countries visited to be worn with stone washed sweatshirts in orange or camouflage.
D&G Junior looks to the return to the city with the skater theme, providing garments with a very metropolitan appeal whose main objective is to provide children with comfort and ease of movement.
Fresh cotton T-shirts in bright shades of green and blue with logos dedicated to skating can be worn over each other along with comfortable fit trousers or dungarees with the bib on the wrong way round.
D&G Junior brings together little boys and girls for the vintage theme which is mostly made up of denim subjected to experiments and different washes so that it is always in a new guise.
Scratched, worn, torn, faded or personalised with the novelty of the Warner Bros super heroes, the denim structures jeans and skirts of differing cuts which the boys can wear with colourful T-shirts that recall American colleges or rugby.
The little girls, on the other hand, mix up denim, Wonderwoman and Supergirl with cute glittery T-shirts and sporty chenille sweatshirts in shades of purple. Great changes are afoot for the D&G Junior newborn, where the sizes have been extended to three months whilst increasing attention is dedicated to the requirements of new mums with great baby kits* for presents and practical changing bags and logoed baby slings.
The D&G Junior newborn range has been conceived with the delicate nature of tiny tots in mind whilst managing to miniaturise adult clothing trends, creating combinations of jeans and denim jackets with little sweatshirts featuring the super heroes.
For the little girls there are cute denim dungarees with flowery fabric inserts.
There is a large selection of soft sweatshirts and jogging suits in yellow, melange grey or in the more traditional animal print, whilst flag patchwork inserts are also present, just like for the older children.
The all-over logo is now a classic and characterises T-shirts and hats in grey, pink and pale blue.
Fall/Winter 2004/2005
The D&G Junior collection for autumn/winter 2004/2005 features a number of different styles for children, providing a cheerful accompaniment throughout their day.
In autumn the schools reopen, and when the bell rings D&G Junior won’t be caught on the hop- its Back to School theme proposes garments that are comfortable both in terms of their shape and the fabrics, designed with the activities of little ones in mind: the denim is softer and brought up to date with original large pockets to detach or gather to change their size, and there is a constant alternation between oversize and regular volumes for T-shirts and sweatshirts that feature the use of unusual stitching and cuts that fill lessons with military green, blue and gold colour.
The Farmer theme is inspired by farm life and features vintage-style garments.
Traditional fabrics are rediscovered, featuring large stitch knitwear that returns to the warmth of grandma’s lovingly knitted jumpers.
The theme sees a continual “mix and match” of velvets, plush, washed-out jersey and classic masculine tweed designs, such as for the cardigan or the jeans made using asymmetrical pieces of fabric, Prince of Wales check and velvet. Warm dark brown, green and khaki colours prevail.
A bucolic atmosphere is also to be found in the Seventies theme which recalls clothing from the student movements, all velvet, denim and little flowers.
Little girls will love the multi-striped tops with the applied crochet of a bouquet of flowers, the denim trousers and sweatshirts with butterfly prints or the Liberty design of the velvet coats in violet, ottanio, rosewood and chestnut.
The same air of freedom blows through the Easy Rider theme, well suited to little boys who already lovingly caress Dad’s Harley Davidson whilst longing for sorties with other bikers; for them, the denim structuring the trousers and jackets is ripped or patched with velvet and suede, creating a fun patchwork effect.
The eagle print and the phrase “Fly high like an eagle” decorate the T-shirts and sweatshirts, whilst the Jacquard print jumper is a mix of folk notes that recall adventures out on the road.
The classic tartans of British college uniforms have been turned into Tartan Star for the D&G Junior girl, where they are combined with Lurex thread, glitter prints and sequin hearts, creating outfits and jogging suits with irresistible glamour.
The red tartan, which has even been printed on nylon for the trench coat and bomber jacket, is always toned down with jeans, denim kilts and sweatshirts softened with flowery prints and contrasting with strong shocking pink, orange, lead and burgundy.
La charm of little D&G Junior women is fully satisfied in the Ice Ice Baby theme, which imagines a little girl on holiday in St. Moritz wrapped in warm rabbit fur or red and white check jackets with generous fur collars.
Prima-donna behaviour always comes second where playtime is concerned though; comfort is thus indispensable with baggy trousers and chenille T-shirts, whilst pleated velvet polka dot or check skirts and shiny Lurex tops are saved especially for party nights.
For a week on the slopes, the prevailing colours are red, turquoise, milk and of course silver.
The Newborn is increasingly the focus of D&G Junior’s attentions and sees the widening of the basic collection for baby with the creation of jackets and denim trousers which at times are combined with plush or velvet, or the new worker’s jumpsuit.
The unisex sweatshirts in melange tones, occasionally featuring confetti pink or pale blue writing, have been designed with the maximum comfort of the littlest ones firmly in mind.
Fall/Winter 2003/2004

Patchwork denim is jazzed up with gold stitching detail. Mongolian fake furs and gold jackets come with warm rabbit lining.
The signature Animal Print group in tiger and leopard adds the ocelot print to the collection this season in jogging suits, jean jackets, nylon bombers and stretch cotton T-shirts.
Little girls love glamour too!
Finally, for Fall/Winter 2003/2004 the D&G Junior collection adds the new baby collection offering the comfort and convenience those mothers and babies need - basic shapes in natural fabrics.
This essential new line has cat and dog prints for all, sporty designs for baby boys and of course the leopard print range for the luckiest little baby girls!
Spring/Summer 2003
Tireless globe-trotters as well as sports enthusiasts, little D&G Junior fans will have a really unique and feisty wardrobe available for the spring and summer season to satisfy both children’s and mothers’ needs with the comfort and quality of the materials.
The journey of the little D&G Junior children begins with India with an entire section brimming with warm market atmospheres overwhelmed by the intense flavours of spices: this is the India brought back into fashion by the West in the Seventies, the one full of the craftsmanship and fascination of the Oriental world.
The colours (tobacco, ochre, paprika orange) clearly recall the hues of spices and get mingled in elegant arabesques and more traditional paisley patterns, all mixed with "tie and dye" denim and melange grey plush to wear with leather clogs and denim and string sandals.
Clearly inspired by the Seventies are the crocheted "tiles" which shape dresses, skirts and cardigans and look blatantly hand-made.
From the spicy atmospheres of India to the China of ideograms, drakes and porcelains.
Specially designed for girls, this section consists of embroideries and elegant prints on stretch satin, lined tulle and Lycra-cotton; blue, gold and fuchsia are the prevailing colours here, combined every now and then with tiger prints and embellished by different shapes of studs.
The journey comes to an end with the sunny Brazilian beaches of Copacabana: a theme that is a cocktail of lively colours and exotic fruits, glitter and beads to clothe a hot and funny summer. Lemon yellow, pink and white mixed with flowery and fruity patterns on Capri pants and sleeveless jackets, dresses and short livened up by frills and stick-on flowers.
Sandals, flip-flops and pumps complete the most summery look in the collection. Completely devoted to sports are the Boxing section for boys and girls and the Soccer section for boys only: melange grey, yellow, red and navy blue for the boxing theme with very comfortable materials perfectly fit for children’s games and movements: denim, plush and cotton mixed with appliqué fishnet, ribs and satin.
All items are enlivened by sequins, vinyl prints, jacquard bands and piping.
Utterly practical and dynamic is the most masculine theme in the entire collection, the one inspired by the soccer world: technical fabrics, cotton and plush in bright and sunny colours (yellow, apple green, orange, white and turquoise) for T-shirts with fishnet appliqués, shorts and zipped jackets.
A wide selection of colourful and utterly sporty footwear has been designed to go with both collections.
Beach clothes and underwear top up the D&G Junior collection with a unique addition: the new baby collection designed to meet babies’ (6-24 months) needs of freedom and practicality: big overalls, dungarees, T-shirts and trousers in natural and comfortable materials, all customised with the printed logo and animal patterns.
And shoes and accessories as for their older brothers and sisters.
